"We Still Remember the Future" by Stanley Sagov & Remembering the Future (Jazz Artist from Boston, Massachusetts(MA0

"We Still Remember the Future," the latest CD by seasoned South African Jazz group Stanley Sagov & Remembering the Future, is a fun, unique album that exposes the listener, whether a new Jazz fan or a veteran, to a different blend of the genre. The opening track, "South African Jazz Curry," really does the job in introducing the listener to Jazz, South African style. The song is led by the organ which gives it a rich sound while the percussion is varied and keeps the beat ever-changing and interesting. Toward the middle, "Stanley's Kwela" relies more on the classic jazz piano and high hat sounds. While giving the listener a refreshing taste of pure Jazz, this track still carries the melodic flares and riffs that make it exclusively South African. If you're looking for a fresh Jazz album, Sagov's "We Still Remember the Future" is it. It's something new and each track showcases fine musicianship and talent.

"Trio West Plays Holiday Songs, Vol. 2" by Trio West (Jazz/Holiday Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

The simplicity of a trio brings a new light to classic holiday tunes when the group, Trio West, presents their latest outstanding album "Trio West Plays Holiday Songs, Vol. 2." A stand-up bass, drum kit, and piano bring a Latin/Jazz flavor to the songs we've heard all our lives during the holidays. You may hardly recognize tracks like "Silent Night Samba" as it has an upbeat flavor with spectacular piano progressions. Some may be more easily deciphered like their rendition of "Jingle Bells" with a crisp and bright piano that glides effortlessly across the keys. The whole album moves at a steady pace and if you like one track, you have to like them all. "Trio West Plays Holiday Songs, Vol. 2" is a great substitute for the bland retellings of Christmas stories past and is truly a breath of fresh air.

"Fun Out of Life" by April Hall (Jazz Artist from Boston, Massachusetts(MA))

"Fun Out of Life" is the most recent release from the fabulous and highly talented Jazz vocalist, April Hall. Hall's voice has the ability to not only be in constant key but also adds considerable spice to each variety of Jazz song she attempts; which range from soulful ballads, to bluesy renditions, to high energy pieces. In "Crazy He Calls Me," April interacts with some well played Jazz piano and just a dash of drums to deliver a mellow tune that shows off how her voice can be warm and inviting. Another song, "Boogie Woogie Blues (I May Be Wrong)" Hall gets a little groovier with a toe tapping, more Bluesy beat accompanied by a dynamic singing style. Then the song, "The Face I Love" we find a more traditional Jazz piece that features a fluttering flute line that subtlety jumps around Hall's velvety vocals. If you like Jazz for its pure musicianship or for how it can at times settle you down and take your mind back to another era, then you should acquaint yourself with April Hall and her singing prowess featured on the album, "Fun Out of Life."

"Far Away Land" by Panayotis Terzakis (World Artist from Greece)

Panayotis Terzakis' strong and powerful bass voice will impress you on the album "Far Away Land." This CD of traditional Greek/Folk music is taken to a new level with the well-trained bass vocals of Terzakis. He sings in the language of Greek and if you don't understand the language, you can still feel the poignant and emotive lyrics. He even harmonizes and doubles his vocals on many tracks such as "Ti Kako Kama O Kaimenos -album Version." You can hear the unique blend of Eastern and Western styles of music with " Perivolin Eixa Papia M'/arcadian Dance." Some tracks are A Cappella while others offer a timbre of an exotic array of instruments that all play well together, giving it the traditional Greek flavor. FAR AWAY LAND- songs from Greece by PANAYOTIS TERZAKIS

Eleven Greek Folk songs with the powerful, bass vocals of Panayotis Terzakis, from his own unique and modern perspective.

All Songs Greek traditional. Newly arranged and sung by Panayotis Terzakisexcept "Yianni Mou To Mantili Sou" arr. by Constantine Caravassilis

Songs from a country with villages that literary hang from the sides of tall mountains and melodies from islands situated in a deep blue sea, with painted white houses sparkling in the bright yellow sun- Greece! a Far Away Land. These melodies, pieces of land and sea, offer and appreciation of authentic Greek music which contains a perfect balance between life and death, joy and despair, Eastern and Western civilizations. In what often called the crossroad between the East and the West, Greece has always been a land where the Arts were at the heart of peoples' lives. Balancing Dionysian spirit with the discipline of Christianity, what is offered us today in Greek music is a book of sounds and colors that travel back throughout the centuries and which is homogeneous yet so diverse at the same time. Rhythmic songs of joy and celebration, tragic ballads of love and loss and laments for those who left home. Despite the various conquerors of the country, music instead of being silenced was actually enriched and adopted new elements in such a way that Greek music is as unique as the land that gave birth to it... "Samba de Fé" by Dorina (World Artist from Brazil)

The latest released album, "Samba de Fé" by talented Samba vocalist Dorina will get you off your feet and moving on the dance floor. Dorina sings with powerful strength and range over the syncopated rhythmic beats of the Samba groove. Some of the songs are fun, some sexy, but all use the classic Samba arsenal of percussive instruments, stand-up bass, and guitar. Many tracks like "Padroeira" use a small chorus to either produce a call-response in the vocals or just to enhance the main melody. Some of the tracks such as "Sonhava" are simply seductive with its suave beats and bouncy grooves. "Samba de Fé " is a spectacular album you can use from start to finish at an event to keep the party going.
